Esther's Story

FORT KENT AND ST. FRANCIS - Esther Mae (Jandreau) Pelletier, 86, passed away peacefully on February 3, 2016 at a Fort Kent Health Care Facility, surrounded by her loving family. Esther Mae was born December 28, 1929, in Allagash, the daughter of Edward and Belle (Kelly) Jandreau, also step-daughter of Donat Michaud.

Esther Mae loved crocheting bingo, she worked for Northern Maine Woods as a gate attendant for many years until her retirement, and also attended camps for Blanchette Camps, She especially loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by her four sons; Arnold and his wife, Marsha Pelletier, Paul and his wife, Jan Pelletier, Rudy and his wife, Carol Mackenzie Pelletier, and Scott Pelletier, 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Her brother, Samual and his wife Linda Michaud. Two sisters; Leitha and her husband Tylor Kelly, Loretta and Roy Thompson. Several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband Rodolph "Rudy" Pelletier in 2013, her son Jeff Pelletier in 2000, daughter-in-law Diane (Jandreau) Pelletier in 2000, one sister, Anna Anderson, two brothers; Louis and Merle Jandreau.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday, May 6, 2016 at 10 am at the St. Charles Catholic Church, St. Francis. Committal services will follow in the St. Francis Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, in Esther Mae's memory those who wish may donate to the Edgar J. Paradis Cancer Fund, 194 East Main St. Fort Kent, Me. 04743. or Forest Hill Manor Activities Fund, 25 Bolduc Ave, Fort Kent, Me. 04743. Funeral Services are in the care of Daigle Funeral Home, Fort Kent.
