Emma's Story

BANGOR AND HANCOCK - Emma A. McInnis, 96, died January 25, 2015, at a Bangor hospital. She was born July 23, 1918, in Bangor, the daughter of Charles A. and Rose M. (King) McInnis.

Emma attended St. Mary's School and was a 1935 graduate of John Bapst High School. She worked for many years for Western Union in many area including Washington, DC, Portsmouth, NH, Waterville and Bangor. She was a longtime member of St. Mary's Church, Bangor, and St. Mary's Sodality. Emma and her family enjoyed many summers in Hancock at their cottage on the shores of Frenchman's Bay.

She was predeceased by four brothers, Leo McInnis and his wife, Elsie, William, Charles Jr. and Donald "Danny" McInnis. She is survived by special friends, Marguerite Kenison, Ed and Patty Pare, Dory and Homer Pare, Charles and Clara Perkins. Emma was especially thankful to the friends and staff of Sunbury Village, Bangor, where she had been residing since 2003.

A Mass of Christina Burial will be celebrated 11 AM Thursday, Jan. 29, 2015, at St. Paul the Apostle Parish, St. Mary's Catholic Church, Ohio St., Bangor. Burial will be at Mt. Pleasant Catholic Cemetery, Bangor. Arrangements by Kiley & Foley Funeral Service, 299 Union St., Bangor.
