- Emerson S. Dinsmore, 68, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, December 3, 2016, at Maine Medical Center after a brief illness. He is now with his Lord and Savior.
Emerson was born October 11, 1948, in St. Stephen, New Brunswick, Canada, the son of Emerson W. and Dorothy M. (Tyler) Dinsmore. Emerson attended schools in Calais, graduating from Calais Memorial High School with the class of 1969. After graduating from high school Emerson enlisted in the United States Army. He served his country in The U.S. Army for twenty years and one day (1969-1989). His duty stations included Okinawa, Japan, Seoul, South Korea (Where he met His loving wife SukCha), Augsburg, Germany, Kaiserslautern, Germany, and Fort Hood, Texas. Emerson was a proud veteran.
While Emerson was in the service, he and SukCha had two daughters, Pamela and Marie. After retiring from the U.S. Army, Emerson moved to Brunswick, and later Topsham, with his wife and daughters. He worked at Bath Iron Works in Bath, for nineteen years. Emerson has been a member of Maine Street Baptist Church in Brunswick, since 1989. Emerson loved The Lord and his church family.
Emerson was predeceased by his mother Dorothy M. Dinsmore, his daughter Pamela A. Dinsmore, and sister Barbara A. Dinsmore.
He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, SukCha (Hwang) of Topsham and his daughter Marie E. (Dinsmore) Montalvo and her husband of Raymond, His father Emerson W. Dinsmore of Greene, formerly of Calais, Maine), an adopted grandson, Aiden Cardozo of Portland, CT, one sister Mary Murray and her husband Randy of Turner, three brothers; Frank Dinsmore and his wife Laurie of Oxford, Carl Dinsmore of Sabattus, Donald Dinsmore of Calais, and his mother in law, Chang Sop Yoon of Los Angeles, CA.
Memorial service at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 13, 2016, at Maine Street Baptist Church, 326 Maine Street, Brunswick. Burial will be private.
