LINCOLN - Elwood Herbert Downs (Pop) passed away on April 14, 2014, in a Bangor Hospital. He was the son of Vinal and Clara Martin Downs and was born in Lincoln on Oct. 4, 1933.

with a huge void.
Pop loved his gravel pit. He spent many happy hours there working hard and doing what he loved, screening gravel and then last summer he began a new adventure, which he was especially excited about. He acquired a rock crusher and began crushing rocks. He was looking forward to doing that again this summer.
For fifteen years, he and his wife, Diana, spent winters in Florida where they enjoyed warm weather and wonderful friends.
In addition to working outdoors, Pop also enjoyed playing outdoors, many great tales have been shared of trips to the Baskahegan hunting camp or flying to Rainbow lake to go fishing with his best friend, Ronald Thornton.
