Elaine's Story

PROSPECT HARBOR - In the early morning of December 12, 2015, our mother, grammie, nannie, and friend, Elaine Lowell, 100 years young, left us to join her departed family for Christmas this year. She was born in Steuben, ME on February 15, 1915 to Herbert and Maude (Pendleton) Tracy.

Elaine worked for many years at Stinson Canning Co. She had many interests including deer hunting and she was a "crack shot." She liked to knit, crochet, make crafts, listen to Daniel O'Donnell sing his Irish tunes and watch her "soaps." She made delicious doughnuts and peanut butter fudge. She loved talking to everyone by phone or visits to keep up with what they were doing.

She will be greatly missed by her daughter, Sylvia, and her son and wife, Herbert and Rita. She leaves grandchildren-Gail, Lynn, Eva, Kathy, Pauline, Bradley, Jr, Terri, Marilyn, Wilson, and Elaine; great-grandchildren- Dakota, George, Chris, Josh A., Brittany, Mike, Tasha, Carly, Josh W., Jarod, and Kaylee; great-great grandchildren-Evan, Chase, Sarah, Alexa, Rebecca, Wendy and Madison.

Elaine was predeceased by her husband of 63 years, George, son and daughter-in-law, Bradley Sr. and Rebecca, son-in-law Donald, granddaughter-Janet and grandson-Austin.

She was a founding member of the S.O.S. Club, a member of the Prospect Harbor Women's Club, and a lifetime member of Halcyon Temple #56 Pythian sisters.

A very special thank you to Betty and Nancy for the superb love and care given to Elaine.

Elaine's graveside service will be Thursday, December 17, 2015 at Prospect Harbor Cemetery in Prospect Harbor. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Gouldsboro Volunteer Fire and Rescue Dept. PO Box 68 Prospect Harbor, ME 04669. Arrangements entrusted to Bragdon-Kelley Funeral Home in Ellsworth.
