Edward's Story

BREWER - Edward H. Robertson "Wrecker-Wrecker" 71, lost his battle to cancer surrounded by his loving family in his home on Sept. 16, 2015. He was born on Nov. 7, 1943 in Portland, ME to Frederick E. & Louise J. (Thereau) Robertson. Edward was a loving husband, dad, brother, grampy, uncle, a dear friend & an active Eagle's Club member. He leaves behind his loving wife, Marion (Grindle) Robertson; six daughters, Brooke Simmons & her husband, Jason, of Friendship, Tammy Moody & family of WV; Buffy Ware & her husband, Chip, of Eddington, Michele Smith, of Brewer, two adopted daughters, Tina and Debbie; several grandchildren, with the closest ones being, Wyatt, Walker & Emily; a sister, Kathleen R. Wood, of Eddington; three brothers, Frederick L. Robertson, of Bangor, Calvin A. Robertson, of Bradley, and Philip D. Robertson, of Eddington, and several special nieces, nephews & cousins. Edward was a dedicated; hard worker & started his employment with Greyhound Bus Line where he gave them 20 years of service. He then went to work for Union Street Towing where he was well cared for by his dear friends & employer, Butch Foss for 23 years. When he was not working he enjoyed hunting, brook fishing, camping with friends, playing cribbage, watching his beloved Boston Red Sox's team & other sporting events, and taking vacations with his wife & other family members. Another special highlight in Edward's life was spending time with his brother-in-law & best friend, the late, Jessie Wood going on long journeys to Canada to retrieve vehicles, where the hunting & fishing tales were abundant. He is also preceded by his parents & a brother Arnold. Relatives & friends are invited to attend the memorial ceremony at the Brewer Eagle's Club, 3177 on the Acme Rd in Brewer, ME on Oct. 3, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. with a potluck celebration of his life immediately following.
