Earl's Story

SORRENTO - Earl (Buster) Leonard Welch, Jr. died June 10, 2016 at his home in Sorrento, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Sorrento on September 10, 1928. He was predeceased by his father, Earl Welch; mother, Marion (Sargent) Welch; two brothers and three sisters. He is survived by his wife, Gladys (Martin) Welch of Sorrento; a sister Joyce (Welch) Bierman and husband Dan of Sorrento; son Earl (Lenny) Welch III and companion Teresa Bryant of Sorrento; two daughters Karen (Welch) Haskell and husband Terry of Little Deer Isle, and Teresa (Welch) Cash and husband Jeffrey of Ellsworth; grandchildren Melissa Richards, Benjamin Welch, Amanda Haskell, Rachel Welch, Kaley Haskell, Phillip Sargent and Jamie Hicks; four great grandsons and four great granddaughters; and many nieces and nephews.

He was a very talented carpenter, building many homes, both professionally and for himself and family. He was a soft spoken, gentle family man who loved nature and spending time with is loved ones.

He was a veteran serving in the US Army during the Korean War.
