Dwight's Story

PROSPECT - Dwight Moody, Sr., 67, of Prospect, passed away peacefully into a pain free world in the early hours of April 27, 2016. He was born Sept. 27, 1948, in Belfast, to Warren Moody and Rosalie J (Webster) Moody Patterson.

He was a past assistant fire chief for the town of Prospect, where he lived most of his life. He retired after 33 1/2 years as a long haul and local truck driver for H.O. Bouchard, Inc., which let him enjoy camping and visiting friends.

He will be sadly missed by his wife, Janice (Hall) Moody of 47 year; a son, Dwight Moody Jr. "D.J."; a granddaughter, Katie Moody; and his faithful pup, Molly. He is survived by and will be greatly missed by his 2 sisters, Joy Watkins and Ruth Hill and her husband, George; 3 brothers, Richard Patterson and his wife, Jerri, Jimmy Patterson and Herbert Patterson Jr.; 2 sisters-in-law, Catherine Parker and her husband, Stewart and Geraldine Parker; one niece, Pam Lashway and her husband, Walte; his stepmother, Sandra Patterson; one step-sister, Lisa Rice and her husband, Tim; one step-brother, Donnie Hillman and his wife, Lona; one aunt, Joanne Bridges and her husband, Vaughn; one uncle, Rodney Webster and his wife, Nancy; his Highway Hero's, Jody Sprague, Rod Philbrick, and Eric Dashiell, along with many other special nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Dwight was predeceased by 2 brothers, Dennis Moody and Alan Patterson.

Visiting hours will be held Sunday, May 1st from 5-8 PM at Mitchell-Tweedie Funeral Home, 28 Elm St., Bucksport, ME. A funeral service will be held Monday, May 2nd at 11 AM at the funeral home. Burial will take place at a later date. www.mithcelltweedie-young.com
