- Dwaine Allen King, 58, died December 8, 2016, in Brewer. He was born April 19, 1958, in Lincoln, the baby brother of the King family. Dwaine was predeceased by his parents Paul and Arlean (Kennedy) King, three brothers Paul, Dalton, and Dennis King, and one sister, Permelia (Mickey) King. He is survived by sisters and brothers, Ida Carmichael, Darrel King, George King, Dale Ruben King, Priscilla Richmond, Patricia Philbrook, Delbert King, Paula Webster, Pauline Hartwell, Perline McCafferty, Pamela Young, Douglas King, and Pennie Stewart.
Over the years he lived in Maine, New Hampshire, and South Carolina, and recently relocated to his hometown. He shared a special relationship with his sister Pauline who cared for him like a mother. Dwaine's hobbies included puzzles, Legos, collecting lighthouses, travel, and a love for genealogy and tracing the King family history, which included a kidney disease known as Diabetes Insipidus that Dwaine and some other family members have. Dwaine enjoyed his privacy. He also loved to laugh and tease others. Being a Red Sox fan, he loved to tease Yankee fans. His penchant for teasing others earned him the nickname "Dwaine the Pain." Dwaine worked in the University of Maine System, and later worked in 2 school systems in New Hampshire. In 2011 he received the Goodwill Lloyd Auten Achiever of the Year award. Rudy Giuliani was the master of ceremonies. It was a special moment in Dwaine's life.
Friends may call at The Full Gospel Tabernacle, 14 Fleming St., Lincoln, on Tuesday Dec. 13, 2016, at noon. Visiting hours will be Noon until 2 p.m. with the funeral service immediately following. Rev Tony Stewart will officiate. Spring interment will be in Lincoln Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Dwaine would like donations to be made to Yesterdays Children, INC. Dwaine's youngest sister, Mickey, resided there for the last few years of her life. Donations may be left at Clay Funeral Home, or mailed to Yesterdays Children, PO Box 829, Ellsworth, Maine 04605.
