Dorothy's Story

MYRTLE BEACH, SC - Dorothy Loretta St. Germain, age 83 of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, passed away on July 16 after a sudden and brief illness. The funeral service will be held, at 11 a.m. on July 25, at St Augustine's Church on 75 Northern Ave., Augusta, Maine. Burial services at Saint Mary's Cemetery and a reception at St. Augustine's Church Hall will take place immediately after the Mass. There will be no visitation at the request of our mother.

Dorothy St. Germain or Dot, as everyone knew her, was born in Upper Frenchville, Maine in Aroostook County on May, 24, 1932. Dot was one of 14 children. She graduated from Fort Kent High School and married Bertrand St. Germain in 1953, also deceased on July 15, 2003.

She is predeceased by her husband, her parents, her brother Lawrence Roy, and her sister Aurora Rioux. She is survived by her 6 children and their spouses and families. Debra and Matthew Martinez of Greeley, CO, Lynn and Paul Cunningham of Arrowsic, ME, Brenda and Brian McCormick of Manchester, ME, Lisa and Ed McCloskey of Waxhaw, NC , Robert and Robin St. Germain of Dayton, OH, and Kara St. Germain of Gorham, ME. Her 6 grandchildren are, Andrew and Christopher McCormick, Lindsay Baker, Matthew Martinez Jr., Sam and Arthur McCloskey, and Dekarai St.Germain-Simms, and 3 great grandchildren, Zachary Baker, Eden and Emilia McCormick.

She is also survived by many of her siblings, Guilford Roy, Gilman Roy, Reynold Roy, Florence Bouchard, Joan Roy, Gladys Ilardo, Jackie Buccola, Fred Roy, Bert Roy, Joseph Roy, and Carrol Roy.
