Doris's Story

OLD TOWN - Goss, Doris, E 85 of Old Town, ME passed away peacefully on Aug 9, 2014 at her residence with her loving family by her side. She was born to the late Edward L . Warner of Boston MA and the late Edith P. Warner of Mahanoy City, PA and lived in Massachusetts for 65 years. Doris was an active member of the East Baptist Church of Lynn, MA for 59 years where she served in the Pioneer Girls for 26 years. Doris also attended Lynn public schools. She loved music, being a mother, grandmother and great grandmother and enjoyed going on the annual family camping week. She shared her life with many friends but none more special than her friend Priscilla Crowell. Doris also enjoyed going to Bermuda with her husband for many years. Doris is survived by her daughter Debra Stevens and husband Rev. Bruce Stevens of Milford, ME, daughter Doreen Connolly and her partner John Lichtenberg of Biddeford, ME, four grandchildren, Christine Rogers, Trisha Hutchins and husband Jake of Swanville, ME, Bobby Stevens and wife Julie of Winthrop, ME and Kristin Stevens of Cape Coral, FL. Nine great grandchildren, Wesley Hutchins, Samuel Hutchins, Zachary Rogers, Christopher Rogers, Dakota Rogers, Michael Rogers, Ian Stevens, Anna Stevens, Matthias Stevens. Two great-great grandchildren, Jason and Emma. Special cousin John Redpath of Somerville, MA and several nieces and nephews and cousins. Doris was predeceased by her husband Robert Goss, a grandson Thomas Connolly, a great grandson Edmund Hutchins, three brothers Edward Warner, Murray Warner and Robert Warner all of Lynn, MA. Two sisters Marilyn Warner and Muriel Francis also of Lynn, MA. Doris was a dialysis patient for nearly seven years where she enjoyed spending time with her friends on second shift. Thanks to the staff for their care and concern. In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made in memory of Doris to the Bangor Kidney Fund and United Baptist Church, 86 Middle St, Old Town, Me 04468. Visitation will be held Tuesday at 1pm with a service to follow at 2pm at the United Baptist Church, 86 Middle St, Old Town, ME.
