- Donald Richard "Ric" Sinclair, 65, passed away June 1, 2017 at his residence in Hermon after a long battle with bone cancer. He was born June 27, 1951, in Waterville, Maine, the youngest of six children born to Alton Floyd Sinclair Sr. and Glenna Iona (Archer) Sinclair.
He attended schools in the Waterville area and in Hermon. He served in the U. S. Coast Guard and was employed by the Bangor & Aroostook Railroad in Derby and Hermon. He was an avid bowler and golfer. He spent many years perfecting his bowling game at Family Fun and Heritage Bowling Lanes. In the early days at Heritage you could find him running the microphone on Saturday nights, being his true self, the entertainer and more recently you would find him at Hermon Meadows Golf Course. Ric was well known for his quick wit and fun energy. He had a knack for making people laugh, with his honest, sarcastic humor. Ric was a longtime member of The Bangor Elks Club and the Brewer Eagles Club and he bowled for the Eagles Club team for many years.
Surviving are his wife Linda McCluskey Sinclair of Hermon and her family; his children, Donald Richard Jr. and wife Lori of Brewer, Lacey Ann of Trenton and Casey Jared of Frederick, MD; his grandchildren Brian and Abigail; and his siblings and their families, Glenys Carrigan, Douglas Sr., Alton Jr. and Diana Stather.
Ric was predeceased by his mother Glenna in 2013; father Alton Sr. in 1988; and sister Lou Anna Sawyer, in 1990.
His family would like to extend their most sincere thanks to Dr. Avery and her team at Community Health and Counseling services, and to the hospice volunteers who graciously administered his hospice care, prepared him for his journey, and allowed Ric to live his last days in his home, as he wished.
