Donald's Story

GLENBURN & ORRINGTON - Donald H. Miller, 78, husband of Marie J. Miller, died Oct. 22, 2014 at a Bangor hospital. He was born Dec. 2, 1935 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, the son of Herman J. and Ottila (Georger) Miller.

Don grew up in Missouri and served in the US Air Force during the Korea War and was stationed at Dow Air Force Base, Bangor. His working career included ten years for Bangor Hydro and thirteen years for Opportunity Housing, Inc. Don was a communicant of St. Paul the Apostle Parish where he attended mass at St. Teresa's Church in Brewer when he resided in Orrington and St. Mary's Church, Bangor while residing in Glenburn. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, Pine Cone Council, Bangor. Don was a strong believer in Our Lord, Jesus. Because of his faith and being a great role model, all of his children are strong believers in serving the Lord.

Surviving are in addition to his wife, Marie of Glenburn are six children, Edward Miller and his wife, Corinne of Orrington, Michael Miller and his wife, Patricia of Trenton, Stephen Miller of Lewiston, Lloyd Miller and his wife Deborah of Brewer, Joyce Hanson and her husband, Duane of Stetson and Sherry Canarr and her husband Ronnie of Orrington; 17 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; many in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by five siblings.

Family and friends may visit 5 - 7 Monday at Kiley & Foley Funeral Service, 69 State St., Brewer. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 AM Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2014 at St. Paul the Apostle Parish, St. Teresa's Catholic Church, So. Main St., Brewer. Burial will be at Mt.
