Donald's Story

GREENVILLE - Donald K. Leighton died peacefully at his home in Greenville on June 28, 2014.

Donald was a U.S. Navy veteran who traveled the world protecting the country he loved, he retired honorably after 20 years of service. While he served he and the love his life Katrina had 7 wonderful children together. After his service he began working for Pinkerton s detective agency where he was a detective for 10 years.

Donald loved fishing, traveling, having BBQ's with his family, and playing the slot machines at Hollywood Slots.

He was predeceased by his, son Donald Keith Leighton II; his daughter, Terry Lynn Belflower; his granddaughter, Cristina Ellen Leighton; two brothers and four sisters. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Katrina Leighton; children, Ken Leighton, Larry Leighton, Tammy Jackson, Randy Leighton and Ron Leighton; his brother, Gary Dearborn; 13 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

As per his wishes, there will be no funeral. A private memorial service will be held for his family.
