Deven's Story

BANGOR - Deven Rideout, 46, passed away in Bangor, November 17, 2014. He is mourned by his parents, Paul and Carolyn (Blake) Rideout of Bangor.

Deven is sadly survived by his special daughter, Sophia; his brother, Jim Rideout of Brewer and his children, Alexis, Alexandra and Maria; his sisters, Marcy Bridges and husband, Kent of Hampden,and their children, Ayla, Evan and Trevor, Paula Rideout of Bangor and her children, Rachel, Michelle and Jared; special aunts and uncles, Jackie and Marty Hurwitz of Bristol, CT, Ted Ricks of Missouri, and Roland "Sonny" and Marcia Clark of Brewer; special friend, Leah, and many other aunts, uncles cousins, and friends. He was predeceased by his uncles, Jim Blake and Donald Randall; his aunt, Glenna Ricks; and his grandparents, Ray Blake, Celia Merriam and Paul Rideout, Sr.

Deven was a longtime taxi driver in Bangor for Town Taxi. He also loved working with his Uncle Sonny for years at the Maine State Liquor Store. Deven had a passion for writing poetry, and he will be greatly missed and always loved by all his family and friends. The family wishes to thank Sarah Roy for all of her help during this sad time.

Interment will be private for the family at Mount Hope Cemetery. A memorial service to celebrate Deven's life will be held 1-4 p.m. Sunday, November 30, 2014, at the Oriental Jade Banquet Room, 320 Bangor Mall Blvd, Bangor. Everyone is encouraged to wear red as it was Deven's favorite color.
