CHARLESTON - Dennis Eugene Corey, 73, passed away peacefully October 26, 2015 at Togus after a lengthy illness with his wife Robin by his side. Dennis was born in Houlton April 25, 1942, the son of John H. and Blanche (Dyer) Corey.
Dennis grew up and was educated in Hodgdon. He served our country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War where he was a mechanic who kept generators and other critical equipment running in Danang. After his return from the service, he worked as a foreman for H.E. Sargent. In his spare time, Dennis enjoyed puttering around the farm, fishing, hunting, camping, model airplanes, and fixing or repairing just about anything; however, his greatest joy was spending time with his family. Dennis will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.
Dennis is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Roberta "Robin" L. (Lowden) Corey; children, Gina Deuyour and husband Barth, Tina Whitney and husband Scott, Kim Corey, and Denise Martinson and significant other Herb Edgerley; grandchildren, Katie and Alex Simpson, and Lilly Martinson; special son-in-law, Gerald Simpson; brother, Robert Corey; niece, Michelle Riordan; nephew, Andrew Corey; as well as many cousins, and friends. Dennis was predeceased by his parents.
A graveside service with military honors will be held 10 A.M., Saturday October 31, 2015 at Corinthian Cemetery, Exeter Rd., Corinth with Pastor Jim Proctor officiating. A reception will follow at Corinth United Methodist Church, Main Street, Corinth. All are welcome. Memorial contributions in Dennis's honor may be made to Angels on Hooves, 405 Ridge Road, Charleston, ME 04422.
