Dennis's Story

MONROE - Dennis Basil Clements, 70, died unexpectedly October 25, 2015. He was born October 9, 1945, in Bangor, the son of Basil and Ernell (Spurden) Clements.

Dennis grew up in Winterport on the family farm and attended Hampden Academy. He was a long haul trucker for almost 50 years. There wasn't much he hadn't seen or done while trucking. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and he loved his dog, Max. Most truckers would call or ask Dennis for advice or directions, earning him the handle "Big Brother," a name he was most proud of.

Dennis was predeceased by his parents and his best friend, Meldon "Crow" Gibbs, who passed away in June. He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Claudette Clements; sons Dale and Dean Clements; 2 grandchildren, Morgan and Brandon; and dear friends, Calvin Clark and John Cook.

A celebration of Dennis's life will be announced at a later date. A service of Memorial Alternatives.
