- Deborah Faye Smith, 54, died unexpectedly December 18, 2016, in Ellsworth. She was born in Chelsea, MA, December 10, 1962, the daughter of Robert and Carolyn (Whelan) Stirrett.
Deborah graduated from Washington Academy in East Machias. She worked for 6 years for the Hinckley Company as an exterior finisher. The last few years she has worked in sales at Walmart. Deborah loved collecting gem stones and making jewelry. She and Michael enjoyed day trips together antiquing.
She loved to play poker and was very good at it.
She is survived by her mother, Carolyn Urquhart and husband Dana; her husband of 34 years, Michael; daughters, Amanda Smith and partner Stephen Preston of Machias, Ashley Billings and husband Aaron of Sullivan; brothers, Robert Shirrett and Dale Shirrett both of Jonesboro; sisters, Cindy Brown and husband Frank, Sheila Stirrett all of Georgia; grandchildren, Mackenzie and Aidan Preston, and Makayla Billings; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father; and brother, Philip Look.
A memorial service will be held June 11, 2017, a time and place to be announced.
