Machias - Machias, ME, David Emanuel Mayo, 49, lost his battle with liver cancer on September 10, 2017 at 9:50 pm. He was born in Honolulu, HI, June 2, 1968; He is son of Lavell O. and Mary A. (Johnson) Mayo.
David considered himself to friends and family as a gypsy due to his strong passion and love for travel and new adventures. He was normally found searching for new adventures and places to explore with the wish of traveling around the world during his life. David also had passions for nature, camping, the ocean, music and meeting new friends to enjoy his adventures with and couldn't wait to share his stories of travel with whoever would take the time to listen. David's love for peace and happiness was all he ever truly wanted in his life.
David is survived by his parents Lavell O. and Mary A. (Johnson) Mayo (Indiana), brothers Mark Mayo (Indiana) and James, wife Melissa and children Christopher, Amanda, Emma and Sophia Mayo (Indiana), aunt Lee Sherley (Wisconsin) and uncles John, wife Jewel (Quillen) Johnson (Indiana), Pete Johnson (Indiana), Paul Johnson (Indiana) and Gary Oglesby (Indiana) cousins Denise, Debbie, Robin, Jennifer, Elizabeth, Tonya, Leslie, Christopher and Randy (Indiana), Life partner Ella Hunter (Maine), ex-wife and soulmate Amber Beal (Maine) and his best little buddy Sean Bennett (Maine) along with countless other friends whom he loved dearly that he met throughout his journey in his life and thought of them all as family also.
David is preceded in death by his grandparents Ralph and Clista (Price) Mayo (Indiana), Edgar and Anna (Oliver) Johnson (Indiana), aunts Sara Mayo (Indiana), Marcella (Mayo) Oglesby (Indiana) , uncle, Robert Sherley (Indiana) and cousins Zebediah and Zandréa Johnson (Indiana).

We do ask to please be respectful of his family and friends who are mourning during this time.
