David's Story

MILFORD - David Leroy Larlee passed away Monday, August 24, 2015 at Eastern Maine Medical Center. He was the son of the late Ernest Larlee and Vera Ferris Larlee Either of Millinocket. He grew up in Millinocket and attended Stearns High School. He served in the National Guard.

Dave worked for 32 years in the Screen Room at the East Millinocket Mill. After his retirement he enjoyed buying and selling books, CDs, sports, memorabilia, collectibles and other "treasures." He spent many enjoyable hours "bartering" with customers at flea markets and at his book store in downtown Old Town. Dave was a devoted Red Sox fan. He faithfully cheered on his team whether they won or lost.

Dave is survived by his wife of 39 years Ramona Larlee of Milford, his brother Eugene Larlee and wife Rita of Millinocket, his sister Phyllis Reed and her partner Dwayne of Brewer, his sister Betty Shedd and husband Derward of Millinocket. He is also survived by his son David Larlee Jr and wife Diane of Virginia, his son Edward Larlee and wife Jessica of Idaho, his daughter Chantal Shaw of Colorado, his son Kevin Larlee and his wife Christie of California. Dave also had many grandchildren; Tawny, John, Isabella, Chancy, Michael, Josiah, Breanna, Alexis and one great grandchild Gracie Olivia. Dave is also survived by his step children Tom Wark of Bangor, Ken Wark and wife Sherryll of Old Town, Cheri Miceli and husband Aldo of PA and Linda Wark of Belgrade and their children. He is survived by many nieces and nephews and one of his dear friends Vern Jondreau.

The family would like to express their sincere thanks and appreciation to the staff at EMMC and Brewer Rehabilitation. They all showed great professionalism and kindness during these final days of a prolonged illness.

A memorial service will be conducted 11AM Saturday at the Birmingham Funeral Home 438 Main St Old Town where a memorial reception will follow. http://www.dignitymemorial.com.
