David's Story

BREWER AND BANGOR - David E. Grant, 73, husband of the late Susan (Bolster) Grant of Brewer, died December 29, 2014 at a Bangor hospital as a result of an auto accident. He was born May 2, 1941 in Cherryfield, son of Morton Andrew and Eunice Violet (Harrington) Grant.

David was a graduate of Cherryfield Academy, a 1960 graduate of Hansons Barber School and a U.S. Army veteran. He was a well-known Brewer barber for 53 years. David was a member of the Essex Street Baptist Church, a member and past Master of Rising Virtue Lodge #10, AF & AM of Bangor, Mount Moriah Chapter, Bangor Council, past Commander of St. John's Commandery #3 and Anah Shriners.

Surviving are his children, Kriss Evans and her husband, Pete of Stetson, Kevin Grant and his wife, Tina of Brewer; grandchildren, Kala Rae and Kyle Philip. David was the fourth of five children and is also survived by two brothers, Don Grant of Orono and Jim Grant and his wife, Joanne of Michigan; two sisters, Violet Harrington and her husband, Norris and Polly Craft, all of Cherryfield; nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are welcome to call 5 to 7pm Friday, January 2, 2015 at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center Street, Bangor where a funeral service will be held 11am Saturday, January 3rd. Spring interment will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery, Brewer. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments at the Family Reception Center of Brookings-Smith, 163 Center Street, Bangor immediately following the service Saturday.
