PORTER - David R. Desjardins, 63, of the Colcord Pond Road in Porter died on September 29, 2015 at Southridge Center in Biddeford after a long illness.
He was born in Boston, Mass. on May 7, 1952 a son of Dr. Richard Desjardins and Betty (Gray) Desjardins and attended Millinocket schools. He recieved his Degree in Business from University of North Carolina at Wilmington and attended the Masters Program at University of Alaska at Fairbanks.
He was a business and financial advisor for many years to the Tanana Chiefs, a community of Native Americans in Alaska. He also was very involved with the Penobscot Nation here in Maine. David will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Besides his mother, he was also predeceased by a brother, James "Bim" Desjardins, and a sister, Frances Pulsifer. Surviving are his father, Dr. Richard Desjardins of Wilmington, NC. A son, Jason Perry and wife Michelle of South Portland. Grandchildren Jordan and Isaac Perry of South Portland. A sister, Cheryl Greene and husband Larry of Pembroke, VA. as well as several aunts, nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be on Friday, October 9, at 10 a.m. at the Watson, Neal & York Funeral Home, 71 Maple Street, Cornish. Another celebration of his life will be at Togue Pond, near Millinocket, on Saturday, October 10, at 1 p.m. Online condolences may be expressed at: www.wnyfuneralhome.com.
