- David Carl Arner, 78, of Kokadjo, Maine, passed away from a stroke on March 10, 2017, while on vacation in Florida.
Dave is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Marsha, brother Donald Arner and wife Loryl, his six children Tammy Baldauf and husband Harry, David Arner and wife Esther, Michael Arner and wife Tara, Betsy Arner and husband John, Melissa Arner, Matt Arner and wife Mini. Dave was a Mechanical Engineer at Pratt & Whitney and International Fuel Cells for 30 years. While living in Andover, CT, he also ran a small farm with his wife and children.
He enjoyed working with boys in the Sea Scouts, volunteering at the homeless shelter and singing in the church choir. In retirement, he enjoyed boring holes in the sky in his Piper Super Cub, fishing on the lake, hunting, snowmobiling through the Maine woods, and restoring his Austin Healey. Dave lived a "wicked awesome" life and always gave his wife the cherry on his sundae. He was loved by all and will be missed deeply.
A memorial service will be held in Greenville, Maine, at Union Evangelical Church on Saturday, April 1, 2017, 11:00 a.m.
Donations in his name may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project, Dave's favorite charity.
