Darrell's Story

Text size

Lee - Darrell 'Skip' Savage II went to be with his mother on May 12, 2017, surrounded by his family and friends as he peacefully passed. Lisa, his loving partner, was by his side and holding his hand to the end. He was born May 1, 1972, in Lincoln, the son of Darrell and Bessie (Dion) Savage.
Skip is survived by his father Darrell Savage and his partner Brenda of Enfield; his three children, Darrell (Chip) Savage and his wife Kim and their children Camryn and Hunter, Mikala Savage and David and their children Dominik and Stacey, and his youngest child Brandon "Weasel" Savage; one sister, Ginny Savage and Mike and their children Kaitlyn, Elijah, and Hailey; many aunts, uncles and cousins. His in laws Bob Murray, Rick and Diane Reece; brothers in law Ryan Reece and Adam and Corinne Reece and their daughter Alisa. Skip was predeceased by his mother Bessie (Dion) Savage.
Skip enjoyed his family, hunting, fishing, four-wheeling, snow-sledding and enjoying the great outdoors. Skip felt a special joy sending time watching Brandon at baseball games, golfing, soccer, and snowboarding. Nothing would keep them apart. They were best friends. He was the world to him. Always and Forever, Brandon's hero, his Dad.
Skip worked at WT Gardner and Sons until his illness prevented him from doing that job. He also worked for Yates Lumber and when he wasn't with family he could be found with Scott or Alton Yates. They were always there whenever he needed anything. A ride or an ear to listen, it didn't matter, they were always wonderful to him and his family. Skip will be remembered as a wonderful partner, son, brother, father, grandfather, and friend.
There will be a celebration of life 1:00 p.m., Saturday, May 20, 2017, at Community Evangel Temple. Pastor Jason Johnstone, a family friend, will provide a short service at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Lincoln Maine Federal Credit Union to benefit Skip's youngest child, Brandon Savage. Arrangements are with Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln. For an online guestbook, please visit www.clayfuneralhome.com
