LAMOINE - Daniel Matthew Morren, son of Jonathan and Karen Morren of Lamoine, was born in Ellsworth on March 17, 1999. He was baptized in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit on June 13, 1999. He confessed his baptismal faith in the rite of Confirmation on May 12, 2013 and received the medicine of immortality, Christ's life-giving body and blood in the Sacrament of the Altar regularly.
A sophomore at Ellsworth High School, Danny was active on the school's wrestling team and was a lover of all things technical.
Danny is survived by his parents; his brothers, Josh and Ben; his maternal grandmother, Paula Kalafsky, and his paternal grandparents, Edward and Jeanette Morren; as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his maternal grandfather, Frank Kalafsky.
Danny was genuine joy and blessing to all who knew him. His friends have stated some of the following things: "He always had on a smile and there never was a time that his smile didn't make me happy;" "He was such a genuine, honest and funny guy;" "He impacted so many lives, not only with his personality but with just that smile alone. It was contagious." He will be deeply missed.
A time for viewing and mutual consolation will be held at the Jordan-Fernald, 113 Franklin St., Ellsworth on Thursday, March 5th from 3:00pm-6:00pm. immediately followed by a funeral service. A funeral service will also be held at The Lutheran Church of the Resurrection, 36 Cool St., Waterville on Friday, March 6th at 2:00pm. Spring internment will be at Woodbine Cemetery, Ellsworth.
