Dale's Story

ST. LEONARD, NEW BRUNSWICK AND HAMLIN - Dale Leon Cyr, 58, passed away tragically in St. Leonard, New Brunswick, Canada on the morning of Wednesday, September 30th, 2015. He was the son of Ronald and Marguerite Cyr, of Hamlin. He was born on July 3rd, 1958 to Ronald Cyr and the late Joan Cyr Cyr.

Dale graduated from Van Buren District High School in 1976. He joined the Navy in 1977 and served on the USS Orleck in Tacoma, Washington. After 3 years and an honorable discharge he made his home in the Lawrence Massachusetts area working construction. Eventually, he moved back to Northern Maine and after sporadic employment, he acted on his dual citizenship, and moved to Canada. He worked Construction until he began a 17 year career as a "Cable Guy" for Roger's Cable of New Brunswick.

Dale is survived by his son, Nicholas Cyr of St. Leonard New Brunswick, his Dad and Step-mom, 2 brothers, Douglas Cyr and partner Marcia Fritz from Naples, Maine, and Keith Cyr from Hamlin, Maine; 3 Sisters, Maureen Cyr of Los Angeles, California; Susan Cyr Begin and her fiancé Wayne Belanger of Augusta, Maine; Vicky Cyr and her wife, Michelle Guzowski of Minot, Maine, and a special friend Patricia Oczkowski of Middletown, Rhode Island.

Visiting hour will be at 9:00 am, Saturday, October 10th prior to the 10:00 am funeral service at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Hamlin. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Dale's honor to Madawaska Life Promotion and Suicide Prevention Committee Inc., 12 Rue Martin Local 247, St-Basile, New Brunswick Canada, E7C 1E9
