- Cindy fought diligently for the last several months with the hopes to return home to Paddy Lane. She passed suddenly two days prior to reaching her goal. She now joins her husband. Ronnie, who pre-deceased her in 2009. The youngest of four siblings, she was born in Blue Hill to Philip and Mary Wessel. A 1959 George Stevens graduate, Cindy went on to obtain her LPN, marry, and raise her two children, Danial and Mary. Cindy taught Sunday School at the Franklin Methodist church, was a Girl Scout leader and was committed to her community. She is survived by her children and her loving cat Hamish; a brother, Norris Wessel and wife, Elaine, of Blue Hill; a sister, Irene Rachinski of Blue Hill; sister-in-laws, Sally Wessel of Harpswell and Sandra Ingalls of Franklin; a brother-in-law, Doug Smith and wife, Joan, of Franklin. Along with a very special niece, Judy Drouin, of Danvers, MA, "Nin" is also survived by a very special great-nephew, Sam Smith of Franklin and many other nieces and nephews. Along with her parents and husband she is pre-deceased by her sister Doris Osgood and her brother Tilden Wessel. A graveside service will be at Bayview Cemetary, Franklin on Tuesday, July 25th at 1:00pm. In lieu of flowers, her children request donations be made to SPCA of Hancock County.
