Constance's Story

WESTBROOK - Constance "Connie" Hall Krukowski, 85, of Westbrook, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 21st, 2015 at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough, She was born on August 16th, 1929 in Moose River, daughter of the late Penelope (Stuart) Hall and Lawrence Fred Hall. She graduated from Jackman High School and attended Farmington State Teachers College. Connie married John A Krukowski on February 13th, 1954. They traveled in the military before settling in Enfield, CT with their five children. She worked at Milton Bradley Company and Sweet Life Foods. When her husband passed away, she raised her children and welcomed grandchildren into the home she and her husband built together. She later graduated with High Honors from Morse School of Business in Hartford CT with a Certificate in Medical Office Administration and was office manager for the State Medical Examiner. Connie returned to her hometown of Moose River in 2001. She enjoyed daily visits from family and friends, catching up and sharing wonderful stories from her amazing life. She loved to read and was rarely without her Kindle or a book. Connie was known for having dozens of deer in her yard every winter, feeding them peanut butter sandwiches and apples. She loved all animals, especially her beloved cats.

She is predeceased by her husband, John A. Krukowski and her brother, Alton Hall.

She is survived by her children, Kate Gooding and her husband Don of Scarborough, Chris Krukowski and his partner Barbara Carter of Moose River, Mark Krukowski and his wife Angie of Myrtle Beach, SC, Michael Krukowski of Somersworth, NH and Megan Krukowski of Westbrook; her brothers, Warren Hall and his wife Linda of Sidney, Gary Hall and his wife Lisa of Moose River; her sister Brenda Crawford of Low Gap NC; Sister-in-law Laurentia Hall of Waterville; her Grandchildren Gary Christopher, Kirstie, Ashley, Nicholas and Jeramey, and Great-grandchildren Addisyn, Harland, Jeremiah and Brody and her very dear friend, Marilyn MacDonald as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Memorial Service will be held in her honor at the Moose River Congregational Church at 11am on Wednesday, January 28th, 2015. A reception will follow at Mike's Moose Crossing.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Westbrook Animal Refuge League 690 Stroudwater St Westbrook ME and the Moose River Congregational Church. Arrangements are under the direction and care of Giberson Funeral Home, 18 River St. in Bingham.
