Hermon - Constance Ann (Simpson) Eldridge, 69, passed away peacefully after a long illness on September 23, 2016, at her Hermon home with her husband by her side. Connie was born in Bangor on March 7, 1947, to Cynthia E. (Ryan) Simpson and Robert J. Simpson Sr.
Connie was a 1965 graduate of Bangor High School. She met her soul mate, Stephen G. Eldridge, in 1967, and was married June 14, 1969. Connie was employed for 12 years by New England Telephone. She left the phone company to become a full-time wife and mother.
Connie was a loving wife, daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She had a love for life, family, pets, Christmas and all holidays in general.
She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Stephen G. Eldridge; her son, Timothy Eldridge and wife, Wendy of Carmel; her daughter, Heather (Eldridge) Runnells and husband, Nathan of Clifton; her daughter, Misty (Eldridge) Wyman and partner, Daniel Viles of Pittsfield; her grandchildren, Kyle Wyman of Bangor, Kaitlyn and Kassidy Wyman of Pittsfield, Shelby and Ellie Runnells of Clifton, Brandon and CaSandra LaPlante of Carmel; her great-grandchild to be born in December; her sisters-in-law, Doris "Dory" Simpson and Margaret Simpson; her nieces, Lisa Lovely, Bobbi Cochrane, Angie Arbo, and Amy Judson; nephews, Donald Cochrane and Donald "Skip" Simpson; as well as many other great-nieces and great-nephews. In addition to her parents, Connie was predeceased by a sister, Elizabeth "Betty Ann" Cochrane; two brothers, Robert J. Simpson Jr. and Donald J. Simpson; and a niece, Laurie Lynn Cochrane.
There will be a celebration of life at her son's house at a future date to be announced. Those who wish to remember Constance in a special way may make gifts in her memory to the Bangor Humane Society, 693 Mt. Hope Ave, Bangor, ME 04401.
