- Constance Ellis Carpenter, beloved wife of Stanley (Bill) Carpenter, passed away on Tuesday, November 22, 2016. Born February 12, 1935 in Guilford, Maine, she was the daughter of Douglas and Macy Ellis. Connie attended High School in Guilford. She was a hard worker and held many jobs throughout her life including working at Hardwood Products, Squaw Mountain Resort, Lily Bay State Park, and she worked with Bill for several years at the Twenty Mile Gate to the North Maine Woods until she retired.
Connie was predeceased by her parents; her brothers: Richard Ellis and Douglas Ellis; her sisters Maxine Patterson, Barbara Sprague, and Louise Rummery. She is survived by her husband of 66 years; her sons, William (Pete) Carpenter and his wife, Candy of Lincolnville, Douglas (Chuck) Carpenter and his wife, Elinor of South Thomaston; granddaughters Cara Carpenter Stacy of Gorham, Caitlin Carpenter of Lincolnville, and Anna Carpenter McEnulty of Mukilteo, Washington; four great-grandchildren; Aviendha Sidhe, Lyra Niamh, and Dhovlen Thorn McEnulty and Delaney Elizabeth Stacy. Connie would have welcomed another little girl to the family in February, a sister to Delaney. She is also survived by nieces and nephews who think the world of her. A very special little dog, Paddy, will miss her greatly.
At Connie's request, there will be no funeral service, but the family will hold a graveside service in the spring.
