- Connie Darrah, 88, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on November 17, 2016, at a Bangor hospital. She was born August 31, 1928, in Brewer, the daughter of J. Louis and Jean (Crimmin) Drew.
Connie graduated from the Brewer High School in the Class of 1946, and then graduated from the University of Maine in Orono with a Master's Degree in Teaching. She went on to teach Home Economics at the Brewer Middle School from 1974 until her retirement in 1993. Connie was a member of Delta, Delta, Delta Sorority, Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, and Maine Retired Teachers Association. She was a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church of Brewer where she taught Sunday School for many years. Connie also taught adult sewing and dressmaking at the Bangor YMCA. She would like to be remembered as a good mother.
She is survived by her two sons; J. Stephen Darrah and wife Cathy of Carrollton, TX, Alan Darrah and wife Vicki of Hermon; grandchildren, John, Jason Darrah and wife Chelsea, Lisa Chichetto and husband James, Brian and Erika Darrah; great-grandchildren, Arleigh Darrah and Veronica Chichetto. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband John C. Darrah in 1972, and her sisters, Polly and Barbara Drew.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 20, 2016, at the Brewer Chapel of Brookings-Smith, 55 S. Main Street, Brewer, with Pastor Harbour Mitchell III, presiding. Interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery at a later date. Gifts in Connie's memory may be made to the Drew-Darrah Fund at the First United Methodist Church, 40 S.
