Claudia's Story

BANGOR - Claudia Nancy Mulligan, (Comer), passed away after a brief illness, surrounded by family, in Bangor at the age of 75.

Nancy was born in Old Town Maine on September 9, 1939 to Lawrence and Emily Comer.

Claudia graduated from John Bapst High School, class of 1957 where she formed lifetime friendships. While at John Bapst, Nancy excelled in English and Drama and was a born entertainer. She enjoyed music and dancing and shared this love with her family and friends, as well as her humor and wit. Upon graduation, Nancy worked in the banking industry before marrying and moving to Puerto Rico where she had three of her four children. She enjoyed standing on a hillside to watch Bob Hope entertain the troops. Later in life, Nancy enjoyed traveling with good friend and companion Bill Wilson.

A source of great pride for Nancy were her children and grandchildren as witnessed by the shrine in her home. She is survived by Kevin and Brenda Mulligan of Bangor; Kathleen Mulligan of Bar Harbor; Maryann Mulligan and Fran Carito of Watertown, Mass; Karen Mulligan and Christopher Mitchell of Hingham, Mass. Grandchildren; Sean and Heather Mulligan, Ryan Mulligan, Dominic Frongillo, Sarah Mitchell, Lauren Mitchell, Emily Carito and Daniel Carito and many nieces and nephews.

Nancy was one of seven children and is survived by Sister Sylvia Comer, RSM; Pat Barrett; Timothy Comer. She was predeceased by her brother Lawrence Comer, Sisters Helen Kelly and Maryann Thibeault .

A memorial mass and celebration of Nancy's life will be held on Saturday, March 14th at 1:00 at St. Mary's Parish on Ohio Street in Bangor.
