- Clarence William, "Billy" McKenney of Milbridge Maine passed on from this world Dec 31st, 2016. Billy was born on February 12th 1941 to Charles and Evelyn McKenney in Parkman, ME. Billy was one of 14 children and he attended Piscataquis Community High School in Guilford Maine, graduating in 1960.
Billy Married Lena West in 1961 and they were together for 55 years and had 4 children that lived. Billy's wife and family were everything to him and he remained very close to his brothers and sisters. Billy looked forward to the McKenney family reunion every year, always building a project for the annual auction. Billy loved participating in sports and excelled at everything he tried. Billy also loved his Red Sox, Patriots and Celtics. Billy was an avid hunter and fisherman who treasured his time "upta camp" telling stories in the McKenney tradition. Billy worked for many years as a worm digger, logger and for the last 30 + years with H&H Marine. He was a very spiritual man and always kept his faith.
Billy is survived by his wife Lena McKenney, his children; Reneen Freeman and husband Billy, Charles McKenney and wife Judy, Earland McKenney and wife Bobbi Jo, Ruby Carver and her fiance` Brian, his grandchildren; Cherish Hanscom and husband Phillip, Matthew McKenney and Wife Calli, Hannah Brown and husband Josh, Paiden Carver, Cary Carver Jr and Kerri McKenney, his great grandchildren; Gabriel Hanscom, Hayden Hanscom and Hudson McKenney.
Billy is also survived by his 9 brothers and sisters; Sally Hughes and husband Ronald, Jolene Inman and husband Bill, Arolin Cogswell and husband John, Donna Shephard and husband Nelson, Patty Fletcher and husband Skip, Dale McKenney and wife Vicky, Peter McKenney and wife Sharon, Larry McKenney and wife Sheri, Anthony McKenney and wife Lana.
Billy was predeceased by his mother Evelyn McKenney and father Charles, His sister Theo Jacobson, brothers, Tommy McKenney; Charles McKenney Jr., and Micheal McKenney.
He was loved and will be missed by all that knew him.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Milbridge Elementary school gymnasium on Saturday, January 14th at 2pm.
