BANGOR AND SUMMERSIDE, PEI - Clarence E. Gillis, 80, died Feb. 22, 2015, at a local hospital. He was born in Summerside, PEI, Sept. 17, 1934, the son of Edward and Elizabeth (Burke) Gillis.
Clarence moved his family to Bangor, July 4,1967, from Prince Edward Island. He worked for Sullivan Ford Sales and many other Bookkeeping and Accounting positions in the Bangor Area. Clarence had a great love for Youth Hockey and helped form the Bangor Youth Hockey Program both as a Coach and mentor to many young hockey players including his sons.
Clarence is survived by his wife, Sharon of Bangor; three sons, Rick of Florida, Chris and Mike, both of Bangor; three daughters, Cindie and her husband, Jim Runkle of Florida, Donna and Ken Leming of Florida, Lisa Trembley and her husband, Antonio of Bangor; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother, Don and his wife, Judy Gillis of PEI; one sister, Gertrude Harrison of Alberta, Canada; several nieces and nephews. Clarence was predeceased by his first wife and the mother of his children, Shirley Arsenault.
Interment will be in the Spring by the Greenlawn Funeral Directors, Bangor.
