MILFORD - Clarence "Didi" Daigle, 92, a kind loving soul, passed away peacefully May 25, 2016 at Maine Veteran's Home in Bangor, ME. Clarence was born April 3, 1924, in Old Town, the son of Camille and Adelie (Ouellette) Daigle.
He served in WWII in the navy upon the USS Nevada for two years returning home to marry his love Charlotte.
Clarence was employed at the Old Town and Penobscot shoe for several years then became employed at the Old Town paper mill before retiring in 1986.
Dee had many loves, hunting, fishing, music, dancing, and spending time at his camp at Beech Hill pond. One thing Dee loved the most was camping with his second love and wife Leeann, and spent many winters in Florida with her.
He was a member of the Old Town Elks #1287, VFW Post 3381, American Legion Post 75, and the Florida Eagles Club Post 4089.
He is survived by his children, Clarence Daigle Jr. and wife Marriet of Naples, FL, Judy Dorr and her husband Bruce of Milford; grandchildren Michelle Balon and husband Ed of Naples, FL, Derrick Daigle and his wife Ashley of Oak Forrest, IL, Christopher Dorr and his wife Teri of Milford, Stephanie Dorr and boyfriend Jeff Conary of Milford; Great-grandchildren Katrina and Konnor Balon of Naples, FL, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, his brothers Simon and Louis Daigle; sisters, Sally Capron, Amelia Pelkey, and Mildred Lynch; his first wife Charlotte and second wife Leeann.
Friends may call Monday, May 30, 2016 from 3-5pm at Birmingham Funeral Home 438 Main St. Old Town, ME 04468. A service for Clarence will be held at Birmingham's on Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at 2pm with burial to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends and family are welcome back to Birmingham's immediately following burial for light refreshments and continued fellowship.
