TROY - Blanche was born in Caribou in 1924 to Rose Theriault Gould and Faye Gould.
She graduated from Caribou High School in 1941, and married Leonard Gagnon in 1945, who predeceased her in 1951. Blanche then traveled to Gardner, MA and graduated from Heywood Memorial Hospital School of Nursing 1955. While attending school in Gardner she met and married Edward Keresey in 1955. She then went on to achieve her Bachelors in Nursing and then Masters Degree in Counseling from UMass Amherst and Anna Maria College respectively. She was a dedicated nurse whose life centered on work and family. She retired from the Commonwealth of Mass as a Charge RN and was presented the Margaret Doyle award for outstanding Nursing Service and Education. She continued nursing after retirement at Birch Grove Nursing Home in Pittsfield and cared for family members in different parts of the country.
She adopted 3 children and raised them on a small farm in Troy with her husband Eddie. She was predeceased by her husband, Edward Keresey in 2007.
She leaves behind daughters, Judy Fontaine and her husband Fred of Port Charlotte, FL, Hydee Holmes and her husband Josh of Gardiner, ME, Marcy Macomber and husband Sean of Unity, ME; sons, James Gagnon and wife Mary of Freemont CA, David Gagnon and wife Kathy of Apopka FL, Martin Keresey and wife Brenda of Troy ME, Brian Keresey of Hudson ME, and Robert Keresey and wife Christina of Pittsfield ME; as well as 19 grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
