Claire's Story

MADAWASKA - Claire M. Sirois, 85, passed away on Saturday, November 15, 2014 at a Madawaska health care facility. She was born in Baker Brook, N.B. on March 11, 1929, daughter of the late Denis and Lydia (Ouellette) Landry.

Claire taught herself to play the piano at a very young age and enjoyed making music with her brothers and sisters, especially during the holidays and family gatherings in Riceville, N.B. When she met her husband, Leon, they bought a house at Long Lake near Birch Point and lived there for twenty years. In 1969, they bought a house in St. Cloud, FL and spent forty winters which they really enjoyed. Claire and Leon enjoyed music and dancing. They were loving parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents who will be dearly missed. Family always came first.

Claire is survived by two daughters, Nicole Levesque and her husband, Raymond of Frenchville, Mona Michaud and her husband Raynald of Madawaska; two sons, James Sirois of Orange City, FL, and Michael Sirois and his wife, Linda of St. David; seven grandchildren, Shelly Kent and her husband, Scott, Jesse Levesque and his special friend, Kristi, Rosa Godoy and her husband, Alex, Kristal Duval and her husband, Travis, Angel Hebert and her husband, Brian, Michael Sirois, Matthew Sirois and his fiancée, Elisha; three step grandchildren, Jason Michaud and his wife, Cindy, Cynthia Michaud Morneault, Gary Michud and his wife, Jenn; six great-grandchildren, Kason, Maddox, Everett, Ella, Madden, and Weston; two step-great-grandchildren, Beau, and Halle; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband with whom she was married to for fifty years, Leon Sirois; and all of her siblings.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 am Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at the St. David Church. Family and friends may call at Lajoie Funeral Home from 9-9:45 a.m. Wednesday before the service. Spring interment will be held in the Parish cemetery.
