SANFORD - Christopher M. Doucet, 49, of Sanford died in Sanford on Sunday, October 5, 2014. Christopher was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico on January 27, 1965 to Richard and Eleanor (Verow) Doucet.
He grew up in Brewer, Maine where he attended local schools, graduating from Brewer High School in 1983. In 1989 he married Dawn Fournier and together they raised two daughters and shared 25 years of marriage. He had been employed at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard for the past 27 years.
Christopher was a loving and devoted husband and father and loved spending time with his family, especially when he could make his girls laugh. He was always a very hard worker and took great pride in providing for his family. He enjoyed fishing and liked working around his home. He was always very particular about making sure everything looked nice. Christopher will be remembered as a kind, loving and generous man and will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Surviving are his wife, Dawn Doucet of Sanford; two daughters, JoAnn L. Doucet and Julia D. Doucet, both of Sanford; his parents, Richard and Eleanor Doucet, Sr. of Waterboro; two siblings, Richard W. Doucet, Jr. of Brewer and Kathy Ann Legere and her husband, Jim of Georgetown, Colorado and a niece, several nephews and other extended family members.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, October 10th at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home located at 580 Main Street in Springvale. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to pay it forward by performing a good deed or helping a person in need.
