Christine "Tic"'s Story
- Christine "Tic" O'Clair, 80, died peacefully February 4, 2017, with her loving family by her side. She was born December 17, 1936 in Ashland, a daughter of the late J. Addison and Ruth (Orcutt) Flint.
Christine was a part-time cook for Ashland District School for many years and she worked several years for Graham Brother's Farms, Potato Service and McCain's. She was a member of the Ladies Aid of the Union Congregational Church, assisting with many meals through the years, and enjoyed working several years with the Northern Maine Fair. Christine enjoyed hunting and fishing or simply driving the local woods roads. She loved seeing wildlife and most deer and turkeys knew her yard was the best place to stop to fill their bellies. She lives to gather with her sisters for their weekly card games to catch up on family news and she cherished her close relationship with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by: four daughters, Sheila Bennett of Ashland, Bonnie McNally and her husband Mike of Ashland, Debbie Clark and her husband Ed "Pooch" of Oakfield, Pat Vaillancourt and her companion Bill Vaillancourt of Ashland; two sons, Jim O'Clair and his wife Lori, and Greg O'Clair and his wife Diana, all of Ashland; 15 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; three sisters, Joan Eastman, Lydia O'Clair, and Ada "Babe" O'Clair, all of Ashland; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Christine is predeceased by her husband of 60 years, William "Junior" O'Clair, a daughter, Judith O'Clair, and an infant sister, Ellen Flint.
A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Friday, February 10, 2017 at Union Congregational Church, Sheridan Rd., Ashland, with Pastor Don Morton officiating. Relatives and friends may greet the family Thursday 6-8:00 PM and Friday 9:45-10:45 AM at the church. Spring burial will be in Ashland Municipal Cemetery.
