PASSADUMKEAG - Christine Hatch, 63, of Passadumkeag, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by friends and family on November 4, 2015, after a long battle with brain cancer.
Christine was born to Frank and Hazel Corriveau on November 8, 1951, in Lincolln, Maine. She graduated from Penobscot Valley High School and went on to receive an associate's degree in Graphic Design from Greenfield Community College in Massachusetts and later, a bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the University of Maine at Orono. Christine married Dennis Hatch, Jr. on July 21, 1972, with whom she spent many happy years raising their two children, traveling with family and friends and enjoying cooking, gardening, reading and spending time with their grandchildren. Christine spent most of her career working with children; from a small daycare in her home, to working with students with special needs in schools, to cooking for Headstart centers in Howland and Old Town. However anyone who knew Christine knew that cooking was her true passion. Cooking for family and friends was what she loved, and anyone who was fortunate to enjoy her food at her home, while she worked at the Riverside Lobster house or at a daycare center could certainly attest to the fact that everything she created was wonderful. Christine was pre-deceased by her father, Frank Corriveau. She is survived by her mother, Hazel Corriveau of Howland; two brothers, Steven Corriveau and Jeanne of West Enfield and Daniel Corriveau of Howland; a sister, Carleen Cote and Rudy of Milford; her husband Dennis Hatch, Jr., of Passadumkeag; her daughter Sara Wotton and William of Nottingham, NH; her son Thomas Hatch of Dover, NH; and her two grandchildren, Tanner and Lily Wotton. She also leaves behind a very special lifelong friend, Vesta Ireland.
Visiting hours will be held from 6-8 pm Friday, November 6, and 10-11:00 am Saturday, November 7, at Clay's Funeral Home in Lincoln. A memorial service will be held at Clay's Funeral Home at 11:00 am, Saturday, November, 7. Burial will be at Gould's Ridge Cemetery in Passadumkeag following the memorial service.
