Charlotte's Story

Text size

Jonesport - Charlotte (Knox) Fitzsimmons, 90 went to be with her heavenly father on October 29, 2016 surrounded by her family at the Sunrise Care Facility in Jonesport Maine. She was born May 3 1926 to Roy and Sara (Cather) Knox in Worchester Mass. Charlotte was married to James Fitzsimmons for 46 years who predeceased his soul mate in 2002.
Charlotte is survived by 3 sons Baden and his wife Denise of Barrington NH, Henry and partner Rayjean Buzzle of Guilford Maine, Malcom and wife Terry of Chelsea Vermont, daughter Rebecca and husband Ivan, sister Arlayne , brother-in-law's Ernest Perry and Robert Yoder, sister-in law Elizabeth Herring, and her roommate at Sunrise Frances . Grandchildren Jennifer, Heidi, Star, Candace Belle, Chad Sr. Jesse, Jayme and Randi. Great grandchildren, Shawn, Billy, Gary, Lacie, Rachelle, Ian, Brianna, Brandon, Brooke, Avery, Devan, Chad Jr. and 7 great- great grandchildren. Charlotte was predeceased also by her daughter Candace Sara, sisters Gwen and Ardie, daughter in law Stacy, brother in laws Ken and Gill.

Charlotte was brought up in the small town of Center Ossipee New Hampshire, where she attended local schools and was a switch board operator before it became automated. Charlotte met her husband James at New England School of Theology. James and Charlotte served together in Advent Christian Churches throughout New England and Eastern Canada. Charlotte continued to serve the communities of Down East Maine as a Senior Companion until she had to enter Sunrise Care Facility in 2005. While at Sunrise she served on the Resident Council and was very active during her stay. Charlotte loved to read her Bible and Amish Novels. If you were ever around her each day at 11am you would see her watching Price is Right and filling her notebooks of show case facts.

The family would personally like to thank Sunrise Care Facility for the loving care that their Mother, grandmother and sister received during her stay. The staff made it a home and made us all feel confident that Charlotte was being cared for.

The family invites you to celebrate Charlotte's life with a memorial service on November 12th at 1pm. The service will be held at the Beals Island Advent Christian Church. In lieu of flower send donation in memory of Charlotte to Sunrise Care Facility Resident Activity Fund which she was involved in raising funds for.
