Charles's Story

Charles "Wally" Hallett, beloved husband, father and "Aha", passed away Sunday, August 7, 2016, surrounded by his loving family due to complications from Alzheimers Disease. Wally was born on January 20, 1938, in Millinocket, Maine to John and Celina Hallett.

In 1957 he graduated from Stearns High School where he met the love of his life, Annetta Hallett. They were married on January 31, 1959. Wally worked as a lineman for Bangor Hydro for 27 years retiring in 1994. He and Ann loved to travel and they visited many special places together but he was happiest when around his children and grandchildren.

Wally is survived by his Lovey Ann; 3 sons, Mark and his wife, Mary Kay, Michael and his wife, Joey, Joseph and his wife, Sara; grandchildren, Aaron, Abby, Andrew, Eddie and John. He is also survived by 2 brothers, Bill and his wife, Sharon, Ed and his wife, Bernie; a special sister-in-law, Janice McGreevy; and his lifelong friend, Douglas Porter and his wife, Nancy. Wally was an uncle to many special nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Bob; sisters, Ramona, Mae and Evelyn; beloved daughter, Lisa Beth; and granddaughter, Lexi Hallett.

Wally was a friend to all; and it was well known that he could fix anything that was broken. There has never been a kinder man; he will be deeply missed by many. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the staff at MRH for their wonderful care and support to Wally and his family during this difficult time.

There will be no visiting hours. A graveside service will be held at 1:30 Thursday, August 11 at the Millinocket Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Katahdin Area Support Group, PO Box 374, Millinocket Maine. Following the service there will be a celebration of Wally's life at the St. Martins Catholic Church Hall.
