Charles's Story

Bangor - Charlie passed away Friday, September 23rd after a courageous battle against cancer. He was born in Poughkeepsie, New York and made his home in Winterport for the last thirteen years.
Charlie was a proud, hard working, loving, caring person. He enjoyed collecting baseball cards and all sports memorabilia, cooking, fishing, reading and science fiction was his favorite. Charlie was always an entertainer. Magic and slight of hand was a specialty, which was enjoyed by children and adults. At the restaurant Vincetta's that he co-owned with his sister, he was known as the"Magical Bartender". He was a self taught musician and artist. Charlie was a longtime member of the Brewer Eagles Club and enjoyed tending bar and performing magic. During his career he worked in many restaurants as well as EMMC and St. Joseph's Hospital.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles Gale Sr and Eleanor Smith and brother, Reggie Goodwin.
He is survived by his partner of twenty two years, Sandra Robshaw also of Winterport, a brother, Boye Gale and wife Deborah of Belmont, and three sisters, Carol Pelletier and husband Scott of Belfast, Vincetta Gale and partner Wes Wilcox of Belfast, Ellie Flagg and husband Russ of Belfast, his nieces, Darci Achorn of Bangor, Lyndsey McGowan of Holden, Kelsey Rena of Florida, Celeste and Simone Pelletier of Belfast, his nephews Casey and Alex Flagg of Belfast, and a special Aunt Nancy Busby and husband Terry of Florida.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
