- Charles Cote, 68, died unexpectedly November 12, 2016, at his home. Charlie retired after working for the Post Office for 35 years. He continued to work, after retirement, at the Sheriff's Department in Dover and at JSI in Milo. He spent many years officiating soccer, basketball and baseball. He loved the sports and being around the kids.
He is survived by the love of his life of 47 years, Warena; his daughters, Samantha and husband, Kenny Williams and Renee and husband, Rich Blattenberger; the loves of his life, his grandchildren, Hannah Rothlauf, Jilly, Addison, and Caelynn Blattenberger, whom he also referred to as "Charlie's Angels;" his brothers, Wilfred and Sally Cote of South Carolina and Patrick Cote and Dolores Doble, of Orono; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Darlene and Edwin McCorrison. He was predeceased by his parents; a brother and a sister. He loved all his nieces and nephews, they were all like his own kids.
He took great pride in being a Vietnam veteran and part of the Penobscot Indian Tribe. He loved many and had so many special friends that he loved so much. Being the simple man that he was, he didn't want visiting hours.
We are having a military memorial at the Unknown Soldier Memorial 2 p.m., Thursday, November 17, 2016, at Evergreen Cemetery, Milo. Immediately after the service, please feel free to join us at the Milo Town Hall to celebrate his love of life and stories that you have shared with Charlie.
