Catherine's Story

MACHIAS - Catherine "Kay" Marie (Daigle) Hall, 82, passed away peacefully September 15, 2015 in Ellsworth. She was born June 1, 1933 the daughter of Joseph A. and Regina M. (Chavarie) Daigle.

She attended St. Edwards Catholic School, and graduated from Bar Harbor High School in 1951. After graduation she married Otis Lee Hall and moved to Machias. She worked in Machias at the A&P, three seasons at Joyce's Lobster House, for many years as a waitress at Helen's on Main Street, as well as on the dike in Machias where she made many friends. Most recently she worked for twenty seven years as a desk clerk at the Bluebird Motel in Machias retiring in 2012. She was a happy person and loved her family dearly.

She is survived by three children daughters- Sharon Ann White and her husband Terry of Jonesboro, and Anna Marie Hall of Marshfield and son James Otis Hall of Machias; six grandchildren whom she adored - Royce, Darren and companion Lori, Jeremy and companion Lynn, Katie and companion Tyler, Shellie and companion Justin, and John and companion Jessica; ten great-grandchildren - Romayn, Britni, Kaleb "Her Special Little Man," Kamryn, Kohen, Nick, Darren Otis, Jayce, and John III; a sister Joanne Higgins of Bar Harbor; many nieces nephews, cousins. Special friends Kelly, Jennifer, Ivy, Sharon and Peter Stackpole. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband Otis Lee Hall in 1985.

Friends may visit with the family from 6-8 pm Friday September 18th at McClure Family Funeral Home, 467 Dublin Street, Machias, where funeral services will be held at 10 am the following day. Burial will follow in the Longfellow Cemetery, Machias.
