Cassandra's Story

BANGOR - Cassandra Shaw passed through Heaven's pearly gates on September 15, 2015. Her sudden death from congestive heart failure in her home took both family and friends by surprise. Born October 13, 1953, to David Mutzabaugh and his wife, Bertha (Keezer), Cassandra was the youngest of four children.

Being the child of an Air Force man, she found herself living in several locations throughout the years, including England, Puerto Rico and Michigan, until eventually settling in Maine. Cassandra married her second husband, the Rev. George Shaw, in 2000, and lived the last 11 years of her life with him in Bangor. She held several jobs throughout the years, including being a certified nursing assistant who cared for elderly patients and those with special needs.

Her jolly soul leaves behind her devoted husband, George; her children, Michael and Carrie; her brothers, David Jr. and Joseph; as well as a pair of grandchildren and countless friends and relatives, big and small.

A private gathering will be held in her honor at a later date.
