FORT HOOD - SPC Casey A. Chapman, age 20, went to be with God's Army on Wednesday, February 4, 2015. He was born in Augusta, ME on March 9, 1994 the son of Cory and Adelaide T. Chapman.
SPC Chapman was a 2012 graduate of Hall-Dale High School and attended the Automotive class at the Capitol Area Technical Center during his senior year.
Following graduation, he enlisted in the US Army and was based in Ft. Hood, TX. During his enlistment, he received the Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal with three Oak Leaf Clusters, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Korean Defense Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon and Overseas Service Ribbon.
Casey was a born mechanic, he loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. His pride and joy was his 1996 Eddie Bauer Edition Ford F-150. He enjoyed four wheeling and riding dirt bikes. He also played guitar and had no inhibitions where music was concerned and would sing for anyone.
Casey had a twinkle in his eyes, a smile, a laugh and sense of humor that was infectious to anyone in his presence. He always strived to make those around him enjoy life to its fullest and he would never settle for anything less. He always loved spending time with his family (especially his best friend and sister Carly), friends and would give the shirt off his back to help anyone.
SPC Chapman is survived by his parents, Cory and Adelaide T. Chapman of Pittston; his sister, Carly Chapman and her boyfriend Shane Colby of Windsor; paternal grandmother, Carlene (Croxford) Doucette of Pittston; paternal grandfather, Thomas Doucette and his wife Colleen of Windsor; maternal grandparents: Merrill and Mary-Alice (Banks) Boynton of Pittston as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Relatives and friends may visit on Saturday, February 21st from 2-5 PM at Plummer Funeral Home, Windsor Chapel, 983 Ridge Rd. (Rt. 32), Windsor. A graveside service with full military honors will be held in the spring in North Pittston Cemetery.
