Carolyn's Story

WINTERPORT - Carolyn Joyce Dorrity was born on Nov. 30, 1956, and passed away on Feb. 4, 2016, surrounded by family after a battle with pancreatic cancer.

Carolyn lived life to the fullest. She relished time traveling the world and on her boat the "Sea Jay." Carolyn was in her element hosting gatherings, always making sure that everyone was having a good time. She held many interests drawing, dancing and rehabbing buildings. Although Carolyn had many careers her last job was at the Penobscot Judicial Center in Bangor.

Carolyn was predeceased by her father, Arthur Wilson; and a sister Susan. She is survived by her daughter, Danielle Wilson of Seattle, Washington; mother, Barbara Wilson of Veazie; husband, Bill Dorrity of Winterport; brothers, Ed Wilson and wife, Linda, Paul Wilson and wife, Gail, of New Jersey, John Wilson and wife, Bev, of Hampden and David Wilson of Orono; and many nieces, nephews and a multitude of friends.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 27, 2016, at 1053 North Main Street, Winterport, Maine. 1:00 - 4:30 visiting hours with family and friends, all welcome. 4:30 - Ceremony with Pastor David Fox. 5:00 - 7:00 Celebration of life bonfire and fireworks. Parking available at Mid Coast Marine. Ceremony will be outside, weather permitting. Potluck. Come for some, part, or all of this celebration. Much is outside dress casual boots are a good idea.
