Bradley and Orono
- Carl W. 'Buddy' Grindle, 78, died on July 22, 2017 at an Orono healthcare facility. He was born June 5, 1939, the son of Elwood W. Grindle and Jeanette (Brissette) Grindle.
Buddy is survived by his wife of 53 years, Donna (Seymour) Grindle; his only son, Karl "Butch" Grindle and his wife, Karen (Trask) Grindle of Holden; one special granddaughter, Alexa Grindle of Bangor. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Linda Doucette; a special niece, Lisa Doucette; nephew, Mark Doucette; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, Buddy was predeceased by two sisters, Dayle Baker and Shirley Richards.
Buddy fulfilled his lifelong dream of building his own home as well as helping other family members build theirs. He was a master carpenter, which led him to his job at the University of Maine, Orono, from which he retired. He enjoyed his morning coffee with the guys at McDonald's and spending time with his family. His biggest pet peeve was "Don't tell me, ask me."
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to a charity of one's choice. At Buddy's request, there will be no services.
