Camilla's Story

ST. ALBANS - Camilla Nutter, 89, went to be with the Lord August 16, 2016. She was born February 2, 1927 in Dyer Brook, a daughter of Ray and Helen (Slater) Chute. Camilla graduated from Hartland Academy and attended the Maine School of Commerce.


Camilla was a member of the Hartland First Baptist Church, and the Sno-Devils Snowmobile Club. She was an excellent cook and will be remembered for her chocolate doughnuts. She enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and snowmobiling and was known as an excellent shot. Camilla was also an excellent mother and grandmother.


She is survived by 3 sons, Dale Gordon of St. Albans, G. Thomas and wife Kathy Nutter of Ripley, David and wife Debbie Nutter of Benton; 3 daughters, Helen and husband Michael Snowman of Hartland, Holli and husband John Stedman and Bonnie and husband Amos Lawrence, all of St. Albans; a brother, Rodney and wife Beverly Chute of Bowdoin; 10 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren.


Camilla was predeceased by her husband, G. Harold Nutter, a son, Daryl Gordon and by a sister Virginia Hughes.


Services will be held at 3 P.M. Saturday, August 20th, at the Hartland First Baptist Church, with the Rev. Norman Finnemore officiating.


Burial will be in the Ferndale Cemetery, Ripley. Memorial donations may be made to the Maine Warden's Service Benevolent Fund, 290 Main Street, Mechanic Falls, ME 04256. Those who wish may leave written condolences at www.CrosbyNeal.com
